What Would It Take To Build A Bridge Big Enough For A City To Walk Across?

Unity & Love
The Great Commandment

What would it take to build a bridge big enough for a city to walk across? New Heights Church believes such a bridge can be built. That bridge is a multiethnic, multigenerational, mission-shaped community that loves God completely, ourselves correctly, and our neighbors compassionately. This is New Heights Church's mission, but what is essential to accomplishing that mission?

Today, Pastors Ken Johnson and Aaron Elliott describe two essential ingredients to build that bridge.

Aaron: Unity needs to change. Unity is a deep theological idea not just ecumenical (multi-church cooperation) idea. It is about getting everyone working to get God's family back. We come from different backgrounds, different cultures, we're different ages, but we are all brothers and sisters. What is needed today? Unity! We need to remember that the people we think we hate are actually family.

Ken: Agape (self-sacrificial) Love! If we do not have agape love we do not have what we need to love the people we think we hate. There is no defense against agape love! You have a need? Let me have the privilege of helping you meet it. Reap the reciprocity of love.

The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) is the game-plan for New Heights Church.
